I’ve tried to answer this question several times.
Seems just when we think our internal clock is ticking on time – we crash…again.
So, here are just a few highlights since our return.
Our arrival home was rich as we were welcomed by our family and several friends from our church fellowship. We were so blessed….and somewhat overwhelmed…in a good way. 🙂
Our kids were all there – keeping an eye out to be sure we received all our luggage. The luggage conveyor had stalled and several pieces piled up on each other! A perfect visual of how we feel about now! 🙂
Autumn and Collin drove us home. It was a dark, rainy night….but, as we pulled up to the house, we saw the lovely white lights framing our house! When was the last time we hung lights for Christmas??? It was a welcome sight!
As we entered the front door we immediately were drawn into the warm and welcoming sight. While we were away, our kids and their “others” painted, hung pictures, rearranged, gardened, trimmed shrubs….on and on. A Christmas tree stands in the dining room – decorated so lovely with soft lights glowing. Ron’s mom was waiting with pizza in the oven…and his cousin, Bruce (who we see very rarely), arrived to greet us. A memorable Christmas, for sure.
Since then we have tried to get ourselves back on some kind of “normal”. Ron is working on some of his Continuing Education needed before the end of the year. I drove my car after not driving for several weeks. Had a short coffee break with a friend. Balancing the check book (yes, some of us still do that). Figuring out what to eat. Facing an ant infestation!
We still haven’t seen the Hobbit
